Nice to read in the comments "what this agent is nterested in" and "who the writer should be" as sometimes it is a bit of a detective game to figure this out.

But a bit weird to see that he lists both his fiction and non-fiction interests as "none".

However, not being indiginous and not writing indiginous stories, I won't look any further.

Per agency website: Wayne is now building his list of talent, looking specifically for YA or adult literary, crime and SFF and narrative nonfiction and memoir. He's actively seeking works by Indigenous writers.

This agent asked specifically for Indigenous writers. I stated multiple times, in the query, the bio, and the form question, that I am Indigenous.

Got a form rejection four days later because he is "specifically looking for works written by North American Indigenous writers." Even though, as I stated MULTIPLE TIMES, I am Indigenous.

I waffled back and forth as to whether it's worth commenting about this (I'm aware it's likely just a "clicked the wrong form rejection" case or something similar), but to seemingly be rejected on the basis of not being Indigenous, despite making it explicitly clear that you are, is, well, something, to be sure. Certainly makes me feel as if the agent didn't read a word I wrote.
