QM - Apr 5
Rejection - Apr 7
Coming-of-age contemporary fiction - 85k
Form rejection except she mentioned that I should reformat my query letter to the Hook, Book, Cook format - which I did from the beginning with all my projects - and I feel a bit dejected wondering what’s lacking in the letter. Anyway, it was a nice rejection nonetheless and I’m still persevering!

Very kind rejection: April 12
90K Psych Suspense. Pretty bummed as she was one of my dream agents! But her response was kind and encouraging (despite wishing it was a full request). Hope our paths cross again soon.
Thank you for sending me _____. I really enjoyed this and had gone back and forth after reading the query package. Though, ultimately, I'm not sure I have the right vision for this project. This can come down to a few things, not having an editor network of who is looking for this, a vision to edit, and/or ideas on how to pitch/sell it. You deserve a champion for this story and I'm afraid I won't be able to offer what you deserve.
I know this is frustrating and I'm sorry to pass. But I know other agents will scoop this up and be the best advocate for you.
I wish you all the best! Keep going!

78k Historical Romance
While the rejection was nice, I do think she could have worded it better. I understand Historical novels might be harder, but its a romance, you know the largest selling genre on the market. I see historical romances all the time and own many so I don't think her assessment of the market is accurate. If you are querying for a historical romance, I would skip this agent.
Thank you so much for thinking of me for TITLE. There is a lot to admire here, but I'm afraid I don't see a way to break this out in a crowded market.
I'm sorry I don't have better news.
